Follow the Sainsbury Singers through their rehearsals for Little Shop of Horrors with our regular blog feature by our Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon.
The seedlings have been planted…
The seedlings have been planted and The Sainsbury Singers are all set to cultivate a spectacular production of Little Shop of Horrors for you to watch bloom to life this Autumn. With our last production only reaching harbour a mere 5 weeks ago, we have already started floor rehearsals. From an exciting first rehearsal to nerve wrecking auditions with an amazing display of talent, we are now in full swing.
As we progress through our rehearsals, our Street Urchins – Chiffon, Crystal and Ronnette (aka Emily, Jessamy and Helen), will bring you monthly updates, fitting as these ‘young, hip & smart’ girls are the only people in the whole cast who really know what’s going on! In their ‘Greek Chorus’ capacity, they occassionally sing to the audience directly and when they do, it’s often with a ‘secret-smile’ that says, ‘we know something you don’t know!’.
Emily described the show as “rib-tickingly funny even at the first read through” and Jessamy feels “you need to set your alarm for this show as it is sure to be a crowd pleaser with its unique style and humour. I have loved the show since I was a child and kept stealing my brother’s CD of the film. I’m currently in quirky musical heaven.” Helen is looking foward to “lighting the fuse and watching this show go bang! Kerboom!”
Little Shop of Horrors, 24th-27th October 2018, Leighton Park Theatre.
