Kipps: The New Half A Sixpence Musical

A feel good musical with songs such as Pick Out a Simple Tune, Flash Bang Wallop and of course Half a Sixpence.
Flash, Bang, Wallop! What a musical! The award-winning company, The Sainsbury Singers, by arrangement with Cameron Mackintosh, presents ‘Kipps: The New Half a Sixpence Musical’ — a fresh, fun and energetic romp set against the backdrop of a turn-of-the-century seaside town.

In a timeless story of money, class and love, we meet Arthur Kipps, an orphan and over-worked draper’s assistant at Shalford’s Bazaar in Folkestone in the early 1900s. He is a charming but ordinary young man who, along with his fellow apprentices, dreams of a better and more fulfilling life. When he unexpectedly inherits a fortune that propels him into high society, it confuses everything he thought he knew.

As well as delivering classic numbers from the original stage show, Kipps revisits H.G. Wells’ semi-autobiographical novel to refresh the story for a modern-day audience and highlight some of the important social changes going on at the time.

The result is an infectious, joyous journey, filled with musical favourites such as If the Rain’s Got To Fall and the riotous Flash, Bang, Wallop as well as new, boardwalk-tapping numbers. A timeless yet contemporary production perfect for all the family and guaranteed to leave you smiling all the way home.

The Addams Family is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.

The show is based upon The Addams Family characters created by Charles Addams in his single-panel gag cartoons, which depict a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre.

Although numerous film and television adaptations of Addams’ cartoons exist, the musical is the first stage show based on the characters.

The UK premiere of The Addams Family was announced on 5 September 2016 and opened at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre in Edinburgh in April 2017 before embarking on a major UK tour.

*Early bird offer expires 31 July 2023. THE ADDAMS FAMILY is presented through special arrangement with and all authorised performance materials are supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW), 122-124 Regent Street, 5th floor, London W1B 5SA. www.theatricalrights.co.uk
