The Sainsbury Singers Autumn 2014 show is the cult show Return to the Forbidden Planet.
Captain Tempest and his crew travel into hyperspace, accompanied by rock and roll hits of the 1950s and 1960s including Great Balls of Fire, Good Vibrations, Teenager in Love, The Young Ones and The Monster Mash. To complete the mix the storyline, based on a 1956 film, owes its storyline to Shakespeare’s The Tempest and borrows from some of the Bard’s other works.
The Sainsburys Singers will be setting of on a bit of an adventure on its own with staging this galactic production in the hexagonal space of Leighton Park School Theatre in Reading. You won’t want to miss it, so please put 29 October to 1 November in your diary.

On Friday 31 October, we would like to invite you to get into the spirit of the show, and celebrate Halloween, by wearing space themed fancy dress. Of course, you don’t have to wear fancy dress to come to the show, but it will make for lots of fun and we’d love to see how creative you can be with your costumes. There will even be a free “treat” for those who come in fancy dress! Then join us in the bar after the show when we will award the wearer of the best costume with 2 tickets for our May 2015 show.
