Join us for Guys and Dolls!
We've closed our Little Shop of Horrors on Skid Row but we're opening our rehearsals for our May show, Guys and Dolls. We will be performing this timeless musical at the Hexgon theatre from Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th May 2019.
Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls tells the story of gambler Sky Masterson who falls in love with Salvation Army girl Sarah Brown, and Nathan Detroit who is desperate to find a location for his notorious crap game, whilst engaged to his fiancée Miss Adelaide, for 14 years. Classic songs include "Luck be a lady tonight", "Sit down, you’re rockin’ the boat", "I’ve never been in love before" and "Guys and Dolls". This timeless musical is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser, featuring top-tapping songs and big ensemble dance numbers, neatly mixed with comedy, drama and romance set in New York and Havana. Come and roll the dice with The Sainsbury Singers!
There are lots of opportunities to get involved with the show without being part of the cast. There are lots of backstage roles available including lighting, stage crew or front of house. If you would like to find out more you can contact us via our membership form or contact our membership secretary Anne Lowder on 0118 972 4464.
If you would like to get involved, either on stage or behind the scenes, come along to our first rehearsal on Monday 5th November at 7.30pm at Grange Church Hall in Southcote.
Our Little Shop is now Closed
Wow! What an incredible show week we had on Skid Row with Little Shop of Horrors. The cast, crew and audience had a great time and we're all sad to say goodbye to this show.
Thank you to our urchins for providing a monthly insight into our rehearsals and show week. Read the final instalment of Little Blog of Horrors here.

Our Annual Christmas Concert
It's coming up to our Christmas season, and soon we'll be singing carols in many of the supermarkets in Reading. But we always start off our Christmas season with our annual Christmas concert at St Peter Church in Caversham.
Saturday 8th December 2018 at 3pm.
It is free entry, with a donation on exit which is split between the Sainsbury Singers and St Peter Church. Mince pies, mulled wine and a selection of beautiful Christmas songs, both traditional and a bit less traditional. Start December feeling Christmassy with the Sainsbury Singers.
